Dwayne Johnson Won’t Run For US Presidency
Dwayne Johnson doesn’t want to run for President of the United States.
The 50-year-old actor, popularly known as “The Rock”, put the idea to bed on Sunday, 9 October, during an interview on “CBS News Sunday Morning”.
Despite a huge love for his country and its people, the Rock’s first priority was “being a daddy” and declared that any future aspirations for the seat in the Oval Office of the White House were “off the table.”
He added that the Presidency would keep him away from his three daughters: six-year-old Jasmine and four-year-old Tiana, whom he shares with wife Lauren Hashian, and 21-year-old Simone from his previous marriage to Dany Garcia.
In April, an American news outlet ran a poll which stated that 46% of Americans would be happy to see the wrestler-turned-actor as commander-in-chief, to which he responded in an Instagram post saying, “if it ever happens it’d be my honour to serve you, the people.”
The “Jumanji” star previously mused in 2017 that he would like to see the country under better leadership, stating that “shutting people out” won’t fix disagreements.
